“Work with Giants” Employment Brand Campaign proves effective as a long-term solution to finding talent.

Posted by Laura McPeck, Director of Total Quality, Business Development

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) May 28, 2009 – NAS Recruitment Communications partnered with P&H MinePro Services Canada to develop an employment brand campaign that would effectively position P&H MinePro Services as a “Giant” in its field. The campaign’s original visual direction and messaging, combined with innovative marketing methods, created a highly viral and successful program for P&H MinePro Services Canada. The marketing campaign, which offered many out-of-the-box components, paid off in many ways.

“The great team at P&H was open to every creative idea we put in front of them and had many great ideas themselves. Together, we created some of the most interesting marketing programs and campaigns I‘ve ever worked on or seen, ” stated Maureen Laventure, NAS Senior Account Strategist, Canada.

Most importantly, the campaigns delivered results! The campaign and opportunities were heavily promoted throughout 2008 and they’ve seen the long-term effects through a steady flow of top talent in their application pipeline in 2009.

Patricia Bowling, Manager of Human Resources at P&H MinePro Services said, “By executing such a strong campaign, we have experienced an abundance of top talent applying directly to us, without solicitation. We got on their radar through our employment brand marketing. We have an abundance of qualified candidates and our existing employees enjoy the fruits of such a dynamic campaign. Now, talent comes directly to us. Plus, internally, our talent is extremely proud of the campaign – a place they are proud to say that they work. We‘ve experienced first-hand that a well defined and executed employment brand campaign offers long-term solutions to engaging candidates. Partnering with NAS has exceeded our expectations. The NAS team is creative, market savvy and customer service-oriented with the management of our account.”

Barb Agostini, NAS VP of Business Development, Canada, added, “More organizations across all industries are taking advantage of the slower economic time to clearly define their employment value proposition and ensure their employment brand is promoted across all recruitment communications channels – internally and externally. As the market turns, these organizations will be positioned to stand out from the companies they compete with for talent by delivering a more engaging proposition and keeping a steady flow of the right talent interested and applying.”

HR finds SEM highly cost-effective in recruiting skilled trades

Posted by Laura McPeck, Director of Total Quality, Business Development

Todays Blue Collar job searches start at search engines

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) May 25, 2009 – According to interactive recruitment specialists within the SmartClicks Center of NAS Interactive, a division of NAS Recruitment Communications, businesses that hire skilled trades are quickly finding that search engines—and SEM techniques like pay-per-click—are one of their most cost-effective sources of talent.

“Our clients seeking skilled tradespersons are pleasantly surprised by how effectively SEM can help them reach their hiring goals,” said NAS SmartClicks’ Strategist Caroline Slomski. “Some organizations still assume that there is little value in advertising online for roles that don’t involve computer use every day or require a Bachelor’s degree. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. For example, we are seeing success in campaigns recruiting welders and electricians that exceed the benchmark 1 to 2% click-through rate (CTR) by upwards of 5%!”

Studies by The Pew Internet and American Life Project show just how much the digital divide has narrowed across all demographics; today, Pew estimates roughly 74% of all adults are Internet users. And that makes online recruitment strategies a necessity for all organizations.

“Today, more job searches are being initiated at search engines like Google, MSN and Yahoo! than on Monster and CareerBuilder combined. And while there are hundreds of niche job boards directed at skilled trades,” said Slomski, “a well-placed PPC on Google can position your organization to be seen by over 60% of all Internet search users, and silo the experience in a manner that’s both positive for the organization and the candidate.

“The candidate doesn’t see the competition’s jobs like they would on a job board. Instead, they have access to related jobs by that same company.”

NAS Interactive’s SEM strategies are managed by Google-certified specialists that help clients tap into powerful search engine marketing strategies that can maximize the return on their recruitment investment.

Time Management Tip of the Week

Posted by Emily Hargrave, Total Quality Account Manager

Battle Procrastination and Chip Away at Difficult Tasks!
We all know how easy it is to keep putting of a daunting task until it absolutely must be done. Get in the habit of setting time limits for tasks. Instead of waiting until the last minute and working on a project for hours on end, set a limit of 30 minutes a day for this project and stick to it until it is complete. Start early, and make the most of your time in the end! This can even be applied to tasks like responding to emails and sending out follow-up communications.

Goodrich Talent Hubs Flying High, Attracting Top Talent.

NAS designs award-winning campaign for industry leader.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) May 18, 2009 – Using employee testimonials and eye-catching graphics, NAS Recruitment Communications has developed highly successful Talent Hubs (landing pages) for aerospace and defense-industry leader Goodrich. Designed specifically to attract candidates to two hard-to-fill positions - SAP and Engineering - the interactive presentations (www.goodrichengineeringcareers.com and www.goodrichsapcareers.com) provide information about the company’s culture and opportunities by using links to current career openings and an informative video about Goodrich.

“The SAP and Engineering splash pages are instrumental in communicating our engineering and SAP employment opportunities to our desired audience,” said Larry Green, Staffing Specialist for Goodrich. “They also provide our organization with a forum to communicate the award of several important aerospace contract awards and Goodrich’s global SAP implementation strategy.” Commenting on the sites’ positive results, he continued, “The template and images were created by NAS based upon the strategy and objectives we wished to accomplish during our initial planning sessions. The landing pages greatly added to the hiring success we have achieved since its creation.”

NAS garnered several prestigious awards for its Goodrich campaign, including two CEA first-place recognitions and gold and silver medals in the SIAA competition. Matt Kaiser, NAS Vice President and Talent Strategist, remarked on the synergy between Goodrich and NAS that made such positive results possible. “Larry and his team at Goodrich have always been open to new ideas and have allowed us to lead the way in developing new recruitment solutions in this tough field. We are proud to be partnered with Goodrich and excited about future opportunities to attract talent in new ways.”

Change Perspective to Acquire Top Talent, Says Recruitment Expert

Posted by Laura McPeck, Director of Total Quality, Business Development

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) May 14, 2009 –NAS Recruitment Communications announced today that Matt Kaiser, Vice President and Talent Strategist, will offer a seminar on understanding the recruitment process from the candidate’s point of view. This presentation will be at the Kennedy Information Recruiting 2009 Conference and Expo (www.therecruitingconference.com) at the Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on Tuesday, May 19, 2009.

Kaiser will speak on “Improving the Candidate Experience: Can You Put Yourself in Their Shoes?,” an informative view of how an organization may be perceived by the people it hopes to attract and eventually hire. The program will address the meaning behind the candidate experience, how to measure it and how to effectively improve the experience to attract, engage and retain the best talent. Attendees will be given tools to help measure the candidate experience and identify strategies to enhance candidate “touch points.”

“The economy, new technology and changing demographics are among the factors affecting an A-level candidate’s decision on which organization to choose,” said Kaiser. “It’s important to look at the candidate experience and see your organization through their eyes. Understanding the thought processes of your talent target is no easy matter, but it is a critical component of successful recruiting efforts.”

Kaiser is a recruitment strategy consultant with over 12 years’ professional experience with Fortune 100 and 500 clients in a variety of industries. An author and experienced keynote speaker, he will continue to offer insight on best practices in talent management at regional and national conferences in 2009.

Motivational Quote inspired by National Nurses Week

Posted by Emily Hargrave, Total Quality Account Manager

National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6, also known as National Nurses Day, through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

In honor of today, National Nurses Day, we would like to leave you with two inspirational and motivational quotes from Florence Nightingale:

"How very little can be done under the spirit of fear."

"I attribute my success to this — I never gave or took any excuse."

NAS Boston would also like to recognize and thank the dedicated Nurses across the country who make a difference in peoples lives everyday.

NAS Heats Up Carolinas Hospital System Employment Branding for Road Exhibitions

Posted by Laura McPeck, Director of Total Quality, Business Development

NAS Recruitment Communications announced today the development of an attention-grabbing creative concept and employment branding graphics presentation that has effectively made the Carolinas Hospital System “top dog” at recruitment events.

Starting with the notion of how “cool” it is to be part of the Florence, South Carolina healthcare provider, NAS introduced a touch of humor in banner display designs used at career fairs. Using a photograph of a Dalmatian wearing sunglasses—a departure from the typical hospital scene or personnel photography—and tying in giveaways of sunglasses and Dalmatian-shaped pens, the displays attracted a higher rate of traffic than Carolinas Hospital System had experienced before.

According to Irene Putnam, RN, Employment Manager for Carolinas Hospital System, “We are always the most popular booth at career fairs. 90% of people walking by stop to see what it’s all about. And the pens are a big hit, too.”

The Dalmatian displays generated so much positive feedback, NAS designed a recruitment brochure around the same theme to attract qualified professionals to Carolinas Hospital System and its state-of-the-art medical center for “the coolest careers anywhere.”

Tina Davis, Director, Business Development for NAS Atlanta, said, “Our business is about differentiation and engaging a candidate in a memorable way. I love it when a client allows us to think out of the box and create something that stands out. We are very proud that this campaign was so successful for our client.”
